About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing construction plans, performing quantity takeoffs, and preparing accurate material and cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Bluebeam and QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, and construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and material calculations using Bluebeam.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
- Analyze project plans to identify scope requirements, potential risks, and cost impacts.
- Maintain and update estimating spreadsheets, pricing databases, and project records.
- Coordinate with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and clarify project requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of bids, proposals, and budget forecasts.
- Use QuickBooks to track project costs, manage estimate records, and support financial reporting.
- Ensure estimates are completed accurately and submitted within project deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders regarding project estimates and cost information.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, or a related field.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu for quantity takeoffs and plan review.
- Experience using QuickBooks for cost tracking and financial documentation.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and estimating principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other estimating tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience estimating drywall, ceilings, framing, flooring, roofing, painting, or other construction trades.
- Experience with commercial and residential construction projects.
- Familiarity with U.S. construction standards and bidding processes.
