Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Cabinet Designer with expertise in Mosaic software and the ability to accurately interpret and read site plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing custom cabinetry, preparing detailed shop drawings, and ensuring that designs align with both client specifications and site conditions. This role requires strong technical knowledge of cabinetry construction, precision in design, and effective collaboration with project managers, engineers, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom cabinetry using Mosaic software, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Generate cut lists, CNC programs, and shop drawings for production.
- Read and interpret site plans, architectural drawings, and specifications to ensure designs fit project requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and production staff to translate design concepts into manufacturable products.
- Revise and update designs based on client feedback or site conditions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.
- Maintain organized records of design files, revisions, and project documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in design and production workflows.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Wood Technology, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cabinet design, woodworking, or related industry.
- Proven expertise in Mosaic software for cabinet design and production.
- Experience in reading and interpreting site plans and architectural drawings.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Mosaic software for design, cut lists, and CNC integration.
- Strong knowledge of cabinetry construction methods, materials, and hardware.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, site plans, and architectural layouts.
- Understanding of woodworking safety standards and production practices.
