Fire Sprinkler Fabrication & Coordination Engineer
Position Overview
The Fire Sprinkler Fabrication & Coordination Engineer is responsible for preparing detailed shop drawings and fabrication plans for fire sprinkler systems. This role ensures seamless coordination with other trades such as HVAC, structural, and architectural teams to deliver accurate, code-compliant designs. The engineer will leverage advanced tools, including 3D scans, to optimize layouts and resolve conflicts before installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop shop drawings and fabrication plans for fire sprinkler systems.
- Coordinate with HVAC, structural, and architectural trades to ensure integrated designs.
- Review project specifications, codes, and standards to guarantee compliance.
- Utilize 3D scanning technology to validate site conditions and enhance design accuracy.
- Identify and resolve clashes or discrepancies in multidisciplinary drawings.
- Provide technical support to fabrication and installation teams.
- Maintain documentation and records of design revisions, approvals, and coordination meetings.
- Ensure adherence to NFPA standards, local codes, and company procedures.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in fire sprinkler design, fabrication planning, or coordination engineering.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software for shop drawings and fabrication plans.
- Experience with 3D scanning tools and point cloud integration (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, materials, and industry standards.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
