Electrical Estimator

Position Overview 

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to prepare competitive bids based on architectural and electrical drawings for projects in New York City. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in plan reading, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimation for electrical systems. This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver clear, professional proposals that align with project requirements and local standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret architectural and electrical drawings to determine project scope.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical installations, devices, and materials.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and bids for electrical projects in NYC.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and electricians to clarify requirements.
• Update estimates based on change orders, RFIs, or revised drawings.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, estimates, and proposals.
• Ensure compliance with NYC electrical codes and industry standards.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in construction or electrical contracting.
• Strong background in reading and interpreting architectural and electrical drawings.
• Experience preparing bids for electrical projects in New York City is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Familiarity with NYC electrical codes, standards, and construction practices.
• Excellent written communication skills for drafting proposals.
